Building good character and a solid academic foundation in future leaders.
 
 The Academy started in 1993 as an outreach of Faith Christian Family Church.  Since that time we have been instructing preschoolers through eighth graders how to grow spiritually as well as mentally.  We use the A Beka curriculum to build strong foundations with text books written specifically from a biblical world view.  Area high schools love receiving students from the Academy because of our high academic standards, as well as self discipline and moral principles. 
 

 
 

Grade levels at the Academy of Excellence

The Academy of Excellence offers classes for children in Pre-3 through the 8th grade. Pre-3 and K-4 make up our preschool program.  Kindergarten through 4th grade make up our elementary school, and our middle school consists of grades 5th through 8th.  All classrooms are in the lower level of the church facility.

 

Length of School Day

Classes are held five days a week for two eighteen week semesters.  Middle school days are composed of six 45 minute periods and three 30 minute periods.   Our Kindergarten is a half day program; however, Aftercare is available for parents requiring full day care.

Kindergarten                                     Monday---Friday, 8:30 A.M. ---12 Noon

Elementary and Middle School       Monday---Friday, 8:30 A.M --- 3:15 P.M.

 

 

Ages for Enrollment in Kindergarten or 1st grade

 

Kindergarten                                     5 years old before August 1

1st Grade                                            6 years old before August 1

 

The Academy reserves the right to place children in the class where the staff believes

he/she will function best.

 

 

Grade Level Placement

 

No student will be placed in a grade level higher than that of children who are in his/her chronological age range.

 

 

Admission Testing

 

Students transferring from another private school or public schools will be evaluated by a member of the Academic Advisory Board.  The Academic Advisory Board member will then meet with the parents and determine the class that the student can most effectively function in. 

 

 

Enrollment Requirements

 

To enroll a child in the Academy of Excellence, parents or guardians must:

 

1.    Make an appointment and meet with the Administrator.

2.    Properly fill out and turn in the following:

a.    Enrollment form      

b.    Policy Agreement form

c.    Medical/Emergency release form

3.    Provide the following documents:

a.    Copy of student’s birth certificate

b.    Copy of student’s Social Security number

c.    Copy of student’s immunization records

4.    Parents/guardians of new students must have a personal interview with a member of the Academic Advisory Board.

5.    Pay a non-refundable registration fee.

6.    Agree to adhere to all policies and procedures of the school.

 

Enrollment Forms

 

Enrollment forms may be picked up at the school office Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. until 4:30 P.M.

 

Enrollment Period

 

Enrollment for the new year will begin in April of that year.  Early enrollment allows us to adequately plan for the upcoming school year.  Preschool classes have a specified number of spaces and they are filled on a “first come first served basis.”  We do accept new students and transfer students throughout the year.

 

Re-enrollment

 

Students previously enrolled will only need to fill out a new enrollment form for the upcoming year.  Preschool students will need to turn in a new enrollment form and updated immunization records.  Students with outstanding balances on accounts will not be re-enrolled until the balance is paid in full.
